Zero motorcycles’ new SR/S electric motorcycle is dubbed by the company as innovative, powerful, and intelligent and its set to hit the streets today.
The SR/S is equipped with a sleek new design from the company’s “naked” designs of the past. They added aerodynamic body panels to help streamline the design, and add some extra miles to the charge.
Zero CEO Sam Paschel said the goal for this bike was to create a motorcycle with an easily recognizable profile that’s both striking and sophisticated.
To make a more comfortable cruising body style, Zero slightly raised the handlebars on the SR/S, lowered the footpegs, and installed a larger seat, putting the rider in a more upright position. They also improved the suspension providing for a smoother ride.

Paschel said that they often use aircraft and aerospace metaphors, here he describes the new SR/S:
The existing motorcycles in our line would be a more raw and visceral riding experience that’s tuned for really high performance … we think about it like piloting a fighter plane. By contrast, what you’re going to see in the SR/S is something that’s much more like a private jet, a Gulfstream.
To power, the private jet, the SR/S Z-Force® motor delivers more torque than any other 1000cc sportbike in production. The “Z-Force® motor features an interior permanent magnet (IPM) design.” It requires no liquid or forced-air cooling. The compact brushless motor requires no routine maintenance, has no transmission, and no clutch.

This provides the rider with an exceptional 100% torque and 110 horsepower from a standstill position. Combining that torque with top speeds of around 124 mph (199kmh), the SR/S look to provide the rider with a thrilling ride.
Sharing many of the same features as the SR/F, the SR/S has over a 200-mile range with the optional power tank, and a charging cable capable of plugging into any household outlet. The optional rapid charge can help boost charging by up to 10 times faster, enabling for 0-95% battery within one hour.
Zero Motorcycles’ new SR/S starts at an affordable $19,995, which is around $10,000 less than Harley Davidson’s new LiveWire.

Zero has been designing and producing electric motorcycles since 2006 and are constantly looking for ways to improve not just their technology, but to move the entire industry forward with their innovation, as Paschel explains:
Each time we launch one of these bikes, we’re pushing not just our brand forward, but we’re pushing the category forward, and we’re pushing the entire industry on the motorcycle side forward into the future of electric.
