Since the demand for electrified classics is increasing, a UK-based company called ‘Lunaz’ that specializes in EV conversions has had to double its workforce to keep up with demand.
Lunaz’s first ‘classic’ conversion was a stunning all-electric 1953 Jaguar XK120, but if that wasn’t luxurious enough, it now offers a pure electric 1961 Rolls-Royce Phantom V. However, it costs as much as a brand-new Rolls-Royce Phantom, so only millionaires could afford these beauties.

When it comes to EV converted classics, a Rolls-Royce Phantom V is very fitting because it’s a smooth looking car, and no internal combustion engine can match the blend of quietness, smoothness, and power provided by an electric motor.
Lunaz starts the conversion by replacing the Phantom’s powertrain with an all-electric one. Then, upgrades the car’s steering, suspension, and brakes to ensure it drives as safe and well as it possibly can. A large 120 kWh battery pack is installed, one that is claimed to provide enough power for a range of 480+ km (300+ miles).

As a bonus, the electric Phantom features new technology it never had before, such as an infotainment system that includes Wi-Fi, sat-nav, a modern climate system, and Bluetooth. These new gadgets don’t ruin the classic look of the car’s interior because they are tastefully integrated.
Lunaz plans to build only thirty of these electric Phantom’s in total, making them a limited edition; prices will start at $655,000 (£500,000.) However, if this is too costly, Lunaz offers a cheaper battery-powered Rolls Royce, which starts at $460,000 (£350,000). It has a smaller 80 kWh battery pack, which, according to Lunaz, offers a similar range.
