Building a campfire can sometimes lead to sparks or embers, making their way into the air and onto our jackets, where it burns a hole in the material. While the hole might look ugly, the real problem is that it causes the jacket to become less protected against rain, wind, or snow. The Trekka Element Jacket solves this issue because, in addition to being windproof, waterproof, insulated, breathable, and moisture-wicking, it’s fire-proof too!
The jacket’s exterior layer is made with a 3-layer laminated Nomex® fabric – an extremely durable material used on everything from firefighting gear to industrial apparel and Flight Suits to the Mars Rover. The unique Nomex® fabric is fire-resistant, tear-resistant, and waterproof, giving the Elements Jacket the protective layering it needs so you can sit by the campfire worry-free.
The jacket contains Polartec® Power Fill™ – a premium insulation material made from 100% PCR (post-consumer recycled) content such as plastic bottles. The insulation provides excellent warmth retention in colder weather, without added bulk or weight. As a bonus, it’s cruelty-free (as opposed to down) and is naturally hydrophobic, making it resistant to moisture absorption and quick-drying.
