Estée Lauder Donates $2 Million To COVID-19 Relief Efforts

Date:

Estée Lauder has donated $2 million to” Doctors Without Borders,” also known as Médecins Sans Frontières, to support profoundly impacted and under-resourced countries with fighting the spread of COVID-19. Doctors Without Borders is a nonprofit, founded in 1971, that treats people where the need is greatest. Now, they are helping fight this pandemic, and Estée Lauder’s donation will help them in this battle.

The well-known beauty company also made a grant to the $75 million NYC COVID-19 Response & Impact Fund. The fund supports New York City-based cultural organizations and social services that are affected by the pandemic. “We are continually assessing ways to support our employees and communities,” said Estée Lauder’s senior vice president of corporate citizenship and sustainability, Nancy Mahon.

Mahon explained:

It will take collective action to provide the necessary support and relief needed during these uncertain times.

Some celebrities are also doing their part to help, including Rihanna, who recently donated $5 million to COVID-19 relief efforts. Her nonprofit, the Clara Lionel Foundation, will distribute the money to food banks, virus prevention, testing, healthcare worker training, and distribution of critical respiratory supplies.

Rihanna isn’t the only celebrity who is providing relief and support. Hip-hop artist Lecrae, installed sinks around the city of Atlanta with nonprofit, Love Beyond Walls, to protect the homeless from COVID-19.

Meanwhile, some artists, including John Legend, Coldplay, Camila Cabello, and Pink, are entertaining those who are self-isolating through at-home gigs.
