Mazda unveils its first mass-production electric vehicle – the Mazda MX-30 – at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. Intended to be driven daily, the development team behind the Mazda MX-30 made the car so it would “become a partner to its owner.” So that every day it is used, the driver’s affection for the vehicle grows. The form of the model has an air of familiarity with an open-feeling cabin to set the mind free. Overall, it was designed with the user in consideration every step of the way. The vehicle is set to launch in early 2020.
Tomiko Takeuchi, Mazda MX-30’s program manager, said:

Freestyle Doors
One of the unique features of this model is its doors. They allow for a column-less cabin that enhances functionality and “opens up a wide range of new and creative uses” for the car. They also make it possible to have a couch-like back seat.
Natural Interior
A sense of openness was of high priority when designing the interior of the cabin. The space also has a connection to the environment through the company’s choice of materials. There is a lovely sense of comfort because of the natural materials used, such as Heritage Cork in the console tray. The quality of craftsmanship also lends to the good feeling inside.
Furthermore, the materials are low-impact and sustainable. For example, the door trim is made of fibers from recycled plastic bottles, and the cork is harvested from the bark of trees that are not cut down in the process.
Easily accessible to the driver’s hand, in the center console right in front of the shifter, is a 7-inch touchscreen that displays useful information and climate controls.

Safety First
To make sure the driver can thoroughly enjoy the experience, the Mazda MX-30 comes equipped with the company’s further-enhanced advanced safety technology, i-Activsense. Peace of mind is paramount!
Included in the safety package is an injury and damage-mitigating brake technology called smart Brake Support (SBS), which has a collision prevention function at intersections. Also, a technology that helps the driver avoid deviation from the driving lane through monitoring the curb, in addition to lane markings. And, in case there is an accident, the structure of the body is rigid and efficiently absorbs crash energy.
