Gardening is mentally soothing, therapeutic, and environmentally beneficial. However, some of us have busy lives, and we don’t have enough time to invest in gardening, leading to our plants dying. So, how can we have beautiful outdoor gardens or indoor plants without having to take care of them? With ‘Eva’!
Eva is a hydroponic system that merges an aquarium with an indoor garden. It offers neglect plant owners a no-effort solution in which the plant takes care of itself. As a bonus, it’s also a no-effort solution for fish owners.
How does Eva help the fish and plants become self-sufficient? The Eva planter creates an environment where the plants can survive without humans by creating a symbiotic relationship between the fauna and fish.
The fish produce ammonia, which contains nitrogen, as a waste product. This nitrogen is vital for photosynthesis and helps the plant thrive. In the garden above the aquarium, the roots then break down the ammonia, and the remaining waste product, called nitrites, becomes fish food.

Finally, Eva also features light fixtures that replicate natural sunlight, which means it doesn’t need to be next to a window, and it could be in the dark corner of the room if desired. This isn’t a new feature; other creators in the past have installed such light fixtures. However, it contributes to Eva’s overall mission – to effortlessly sustain life in any indoor setting.
