If you haven’t seen a Boston Dynamics robot in action yet, then you’re in for a treat because this video is the best one yet! Atlas, Handle, and Spot show off their unbelievable dancing skills to the song “Do You Love Me” by Berry Gordy Jr., performed by The Contours.
Watching them dance, you don’t know whether to be afraid of robots taking over the world someday or amazed by their talent. The entire Boston Dynamics robot-family can move better than most people!
In 2018, the company put out a video of Spot dancing to “Uptown Funk,” but the robot’s skills have noticeably improved since then. The dance Spot did back then wasn’t as graceful, and he hadn’t learned how to do pointe yet. It’s impressive to see how far Boston Dynamics has come in such a short time.
Atlas is by far the most capable robot of the bunch. In this video, it’s effortlessly standing on one leg, gracefully balanced while performing classic dance moves like The Twist and The Mashed Potato. But seeing the box lifter Handle as an agile creature is just as shocking in a different way.
All around, it’s an amusing and fun performance you can’t help but watch to the end…all the while thinking: “Wow! The future is REALLY here now.”
