Uniti One, by Swedish EV startup Uniti, is an urban electric vehicle fully optimized for maximum efficiency, affordability, and sustainability. It may look small, and it is compact, but the design fully maximizes the interior space for three adults. The company has been working on the model for some time now and has finally unveiled the specifications and pricing for its debut vehicle!
The Uniti One was designed in Sweden and engineered in the United Kingdom. Buyers can choose between two battery sizes with the better one having a range of up to 300km (186 miles) and a superfast charging time of just 17 minutes to get it from 20% to 80% using a 50kW CCS charger.
The company wants to offer its revolutionary new platform for sustainable mobility at an affordable price tag. Therefore the car will go for a starting price of just £15,100 (US$19,125) (after £3,500 (US$4,433) UK government subsidy). Sweden and the UK will receive the first deliveries in mid-2020.

Three adults can ride in the ultra-compact footprint of the Uniti One thanks to its intelligent packing and unique one-plus-two seating configuration. The layout also offers both visibility and ergonomic benefits for the driver. There is ample space for two adult passengers to sit behind, including a generous load-carrying potential. The driver’s seat is centrally located, which enables rear passengers easy and quick access into and out of the cabin, with minimal disruption to the driver. If there are no passengers, the rear bench can fold down flat, providing the driver with 760 liters of usable cargo space.

Another unique feature of the Uniti One is its canopy-style windscreen that stretches over the cabin space creating an airy environment for the occupants. Even standard vehicles come with an electrochromic, panoramic roof that allows for cabin brightness to be controlled as desired – going from fully opaque to transparent within seconds. When parked, the roof automatically darkens to prevent the car from heating up. This feature also helps reduce the energy required to cool the cabin off again. During drive mode, the electrochromic glass acts as a sun visor by tinting the top of the windshield to reduce glare and brightness.

The buyer can choose whether they want a dark or light upholstery theme. The materials used are soft-touch and high-quality engineered textiles. Interior trim accents, circular dashboard button surroundings, and door handles are made of machined aluminum. There is also the option of fully configurable RGB mood lighting, which subtly accents the doors, roof, and dashboard.

The Uniti One’s controls take on a digital-first approach and therefore keep the number of physical switches to a minimum. This creates a smartphone-like feel. Arced around the driver is the car’s signature horizon panel displaying three configurable screens that integrate all command channels and information in one cohesive element.

Included with the vehicle is an integrated system – the Android Automotive OS – which is an interface that enables access to Waze, Google Maps, Spotify, and all other Play Store services and apps without having to connect a smartphone. This interface also provides access to essential vehicle functions, such as heating, ventilation, and lighting – which are all controllable via touch or hands-free voice activation.
