Imagine if you could book a stay at a hotel that specializes in drone entertainment. Well, that idea is about to become a reality. Chinese drone manufacturer EHang has partnered with hotel developer LN Holdings to build the world’s first passenger drone hotel.
What Is A Drone Hotel?
The entire hotel experience incorporates drones, from air taxis that offer transportation to and from the hotel to opportunities for scenic excursions. There will be drone light shows to entertain guests, and UAVs will also make deliveries to the hotel.

The EHang 216 AAV
Ehang has scaled up drone designs to create a full-sized autonomous passenger craft, dubbed the EHang 216 AAV. The large drone is basically an octocopter with a two-passenger cubicle on top. However, unlike other air taxi makers that include a pilot, the 216 AAV is fully autonomous. The company has already manufactured and delivered dozens of its passenger drones to customers in North America, Europe, and Asia.
The World’s First Drone Hotel
In 2019, EHang and the Guangzhou government entered an agreement to make the city the world’s first ‘urban air mobility pilot city.’ Now, they will begin this vision by adding drone services to one of LN’s existing sites, the LN Garden Hotel, in a coastal district called Nansha in the city of Guangzhou. It will offer excursions to beautiful locations, including the Pearl River, Beijing Road, and Canton Tower.
