You don’t even need to leave your house to get your hands on one of these delicious Plant Based Buckets. And if you’re still hungry after eating the chicken, you can even eat the package that it came in.

Welcome To The Future of Zero Waste!

Alpro vegan chickenAlpro – a plant-based food brand – has created this ultimate zero waste vegan meal. It was launched to celebrate Plant Based Day on March 7th; a holiday created by Alpro to encourage people to eat more vegan food.

This meal includes vegan ‘fried chicken’, sweet potato fries, and a creamy garlic dip. The crispy vegan ‘fried chicken’ is made from mushrooms and Alpro’s Almond Unsweetened drink. The sweet potato fries are the perfect blend of crispy and fluffy. And the most exciting part of it all, is its crunchy, crispbread-like texture, edible packaging. Made up from a combination of nuts, seeds, and spices that include – fennel, nigella, sesame, and pumpkin seeds. It is meant to be a plant-powered version of the classic chicken and chips in the UK.

Alpro vegan chicken“We’re launching ‘PBB’ to show the nation what’s possible using the amazing power of plants,” said Stephanie Balsom-Eynon, head of Plant Power and chief ‘bucket’ taster at Alpro. “We’ve always said that the future of food is plant-based because this way of eating is good for people, and good for the planet – and now, thanks to Alpro, plant-based could be the future for takeaways too,” she added.

Last year, the U.K. topped Germany as the world’s leader in vegan food at supermarkets and restaurants. One out of six new product launches were vegan, while plant-based options in restaurants increased over 230 percent. Meanwhile, Ireland increased 119 percent in vegan delivery orders. International food delivery service ‘Just Eat’ also added more vegan-friendly restaurants, due to consumer demand. Both services highlighted that an increasing amount of consumers are seeking healthier options.

Did you know – many medical studies have revealed that plant-based diets reduce the risk of multiple chronic health issues like heart disease, type-2 diabetes, and certain forms of cancer. Other benefits from plant-based diets include weight loss, lowering blood pressure, and increased longevity. This is why you need to get your hands on Alpro’s delicious ‘vegan fried chicken’. These Plant Based Buckets are now available for delivery in London and Manchester on Deliveroo for only £5.
