Combining a love for animals and a passion for the environment, rapper RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan, has developed a puffer jacket made from recycled ocean plastic.
RZA owns a lifestyle company called 36 Chambers and has teamed up with the German vegan outerwear brand Embassy of Bricks and Logs, and PETA to produce the new limited edition puffer jacket. Puffer jackets made from down have an impact on the environment and animals as mentioned by Tracy Reiman, Executive Vice President of PETA: “While down items harm animals and the planet, this warm, trendy vegan coat made with 100% recycled ocean plastic will help PETA save animals.”

As we evolve as a people through technology and ingenuity, we have the ability through humane ways to fashion garments that not only serve our purpose but also, more importantly, abandon the unnecessary cruelty to animals.
The coat is called The Flying Guillotine Puffer Jacket, named after the 1970’s Taiwanese Yu Wang movie, Master of the Flying Guillotine. To pay homage to the movie, the jacket features a large hood with a quote from the movie, “Our Heads No Longer Belong To Us,” scribed along the neckline. The inner lining of the coat features a saw blade-like weapon that was used in the movie.
The jacket is limited edition and will retail for $336 with 15% of the proceeds going to PETA. The message behind this coat is all about creating a ‘better tomorrow,’ not just for humans, but animals and the planet as a whole. Here’s to a better tomorrow!
