The Malaysian Queen, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, has been cooking up delicious meals for hospital workers who are taking care of patients infected with the coronavirus.
The current figures have Malaysia at 3,333 confirmed cases (the highest number of any country in South-east Asia,) 53 deaths, and 827 recovered, as of April 3 at 8:31 PM.
The Queen is well known in Malaysia for her love of cooking and baking. On March 21, she posted some photos on her Instagram page of some meals she prepared for various hospitals.
The first dish she served was a vegetable stir-fry for the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Sungei Buloh Hospital.

The same day, she made another dish of fish and rice. She added, “The least I could do for the government servants sacrificing their lives, I salute them.”

The following day, she prepared another dish for the Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) and the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, of turmeric fried chicken, egg curry, and Javanese vegetables. To top it off, she made mini chocolate chip cupcakes.

On March 23, she cooked more delicious food for the Sungei Buloh Hospital and the CPRC.

Many people have applauded the Queen’s culinary efforts and her determination to lighten the load of the frontline heroes.
However, on March 24, the Malaysian Queen and King were put into quarantine after seven members of the palace staff tested positive for the coronavirus. The staff was immediately hospitalized, and everyone else in the palace was placed under quarantine for 14 days. The palace was then thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated. Thankfully, both the King and Queen tested negative for SARS-CoV-2.
The entire country of Malaysia was placed under a two-week lockdown from March 18 to March 31 due to COVID-19. This date was later extended to April 14 after cases peaked on March 25.
