Budget Friendly Torque-Sensing E-Bike With a 100 km Range

Date:

Rymic hopes to reduce the cost of commuting by e-bike with the introduction of the Infinity 3, which combines a 100-km battery range, torque sensor, hub motor, and a reasonably lightweight build.

About Rymic

Rymic is a London and Hong Kong-based tech company whose mission is to assist the younger generation in overcoming new challenges such as increased fuel prices, worsening traffic, soaring living costs, and carbon emissions.

To begin, they will build Rymic Infinity 3, a more affordable and eco-friendlier commute companion. The Infinity 3 is an e-bike that provides a different mode of transportation, lowers your travel costs without breaking a sweat, has a minimal carbon footprint, and is trendy enough for you to feel good while riding it.

The Infinity 3

The 250-W Mivice rear-hub electric motor in the Infinity 3 provides up to 20 mph of pedal assistance in three modes (including walk assist) for riders in the US and 25 km/h in Europe. For greater riding flexibility, there is a Shimano 7-speed gear set. Meanwhile, the torque sensor (which is still relatively uncommon for e-bikes in this price range) responds to pedal input power rather than pedal speed for a more responsive ride.

According to Rymic, the 36-V/10.5-Ah downtube battery can last up to 100 km (61 miles) and only requires 2.5 to 3 hours to fully recharge using the included charger. As with many other bikes, it’s a totally removable battery.

Two sizes of the 6061 aluminum alloy frame are offered to riders with heights ranging from 1.65 to 1.95 m (5.4 to 6.4 feet). The e-bike has a maximum load capacity of 330 lb (150 kg) and weighs 39.5 lb (18 kg), making it relatively simple to carry up the stairs to the apartment. In addition, most of the cables are routed internally to keep the electric bike looking neat.

Other Features

The bike also features front and rear integrated lighting, as well as:

  • Tektro mechanical disc brakes
  • A wide handlebar
  • A monochrome LCD that has power-on password protection
  • A USB connector for charging mobile devices while commuting
  • Puncture-resistant Kenda K193 700x34c tires

The starting pledge on Indiegogo was US$1,099, which is a discount of 30% off the estimated retail price. The campaign has surpassed its goal of $78,500 and has raised a total of $325,285. The Rymic Infinity 3 is currently available on their website for €1,099.
